Eric Says: “I skated in my first ISI World Championships at the age of 6, and to this day the spirited camaraderie of that competition reminds me of how much my love for figure skating began. ISI provided me with the solid foundation of skating skills, friends and a support system that has been crucial to my development as not only a skater but also as a human being. These valuable lessons of “try your best,” “learn from your mistakes,” and even “have fun” helped me with learning how to cope with circumstances at home or at school, or later on with learning an instrument. The ISI instructors at my rink have been some of the people I respect and look up to the most — role models that have always been there for me. That is why I chose to become an ISI Professional member myself, so that I can share the knowledge and joy that I’ve gained from skating with the next generation of bright-eyed, eager skaters.”
